Horizon Dress

$10.00

There’s something so sweet about a ruffled skirt… just so long as it doesn’t get in the way of the action! This sewing pattern will see you create a beautiful knit dress which is easy to wear. A skirt just at the knee and two sleeve length options adds to the versatility. A gentle curve between the bodice and skirt, just like the horizon, adds that little bit of special style.

Essie (in short sleeves)  and Evie (in long sleeves) are both two years old, have a 52cm chest and wear a size 2T. This size has room to grow into in the chest and is the perfect length.

Notes:

  1. The skirt portion may be made from any fabric of your choosing: knit or woven. Something that is light with a bit of movement will work best.
  2. The bodice is designed for knit fabrics only, and the neckband must be of a fabric with an elastic content so that is has a stretch and return to cope with going over the head and then back into shape. See our tutorial board for more help on selecting an appropriate fabric.
  3. The fabric required for short sleeves will fit into the fabric required for the bodice. The fabric required for long sleeves is additional length to what is required for the bodice as they too will fit next to the bodice pieces along the width of the fabric. The fabric required for the skirt is an entire additional piece.
  4. *Asterisk means that if your fabric width is between 120 and 150cm, you will need double the length suggested.
