We at Sew Knit Love are all about enjoying the beauty of simplicity. Some of the best things in life are simple, and this is so true for this shawl. This garter stitch shawl is worked from the bottom up, which means not only is cast on only a couple of stitches (hooray!!) but you can make your shawl as small or big as you like, using up all your yarn – say no to stray bitsies in your stash!!
We’ve chosen the soft squidgy boucle from White Gum Wool in subtle and scrumptious colours by Augustbird because that gentle halo and unique construction is beyond compare. One of our favourite Tasmanian native plants was in bloom whilst we were designing this shawl and it has baby buds in much the same warm dusty pink as The Northern Forest colourway, and so we named this shawl ‘Laurel’ for that plant.
This shawl is such a pleasure to knit. Its simple repeating sequence means you can simply just keep going and going without referring to instructions or a measuring tape. Perfect with a glass of wine and your favourite television show. Before you know it, your shawl will be off your needles and around your shoulders. Permanently.
