Rosebud Pinafore

What can be more classic than a handmade pinny. Often the first port-of-call for a newbie seamstress, the humble pinafore is something that we all come back to time and time again. For good reason! For any season, any outfit, and fabric, and at any age, your wee lass can wear a pinafore.

Its generous armholes to allow lengthy wear as she grows, and the length will keep it out of the way when playing or learning to crawl. And as an added bonus, it can be completely reversible if another button is sewn on the reverse! If buttons give you the heebie jeebies you can use hook and eye, velcro, or even a brooch as we have done.

This pattern is sized for heavy weight fabrics. If you are using a lightweight fabric, SIZE DOWN. This pinafore is not intended to be a dress and has an open back.

Heavy weight fabrics we recommend are upcycled blankets, corduroy, boiled wool, boucle, and fleece.

Light weight fabrics we recommend are canvas (as used in our pictures), line, quilting weight cotton, cheesecloth.

Evie wears the 2 heavy/3 light.

1cm (3/8″) seam allowance is included.
